Catherine Ann Marshall leads RealAlts, a real assets investment consulting firm focused on helping clients integrate ESG/climate change into investments to improve long-term returns. Since 2008, Catherine has worked with a wide variety of Canadian and global asset owners and investment managers. Prior to becoming a consultant, she held senior roles in institutional investment management including head of real estate research and strategy at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, and Senior Vice President Research and Strategy LaSalle Investment Management. Catherine has also worked as an Associate Partner, Global Real Estate for Aon Investment Consulting.
Catherine is on the Benefits Canada Expert Panel, is the ESG columnist for the Canadian Investment Review, and also writes for other publications globally. She is a graduate of the Sustainability and Climate Risk certification sponsored by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. In addition, she holds the CFA designation, and has an MA in economics.
