About this Speaker
Peter is a recognized pioneer and leader in shaping corporate sustainability. He brings over 20 years of extensive industry experience to provide holistic ESG advice to clients in his current role within Scotiabank’s Sustainable Finance Group. Peter has worked across various sectors to develop and implement business-centric programs around sustainability, climate change, risk management, CSR, stakeholder and employee engagement, metrics and reporting. In his previous role as Director of Scotiabank’s Environmental and Social Risk Management Group, Peter was responsible for identifying and managing current and emerging environmental, social and sustainability risks and opportunities across the Bank’s global presence.
As Chair of the Canadian Standards Association Group’s Transition Taxonomy and Sustainable Finance Technical Committee, Peter’s role is to facilitate a cross-sectoral group whose objective is to develop a national transition taxonomy for the Canadian financial services sector. Peter was the first certified sustainable forest management (SFM) auditor in North America, and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Toronto along with a Master of Science in Forestry from Lakehead University.
